Noisey has released a video documentary series on legendary straight edge band JUDGE. The four part series solves the mystery of what happened following the band’s break up and the disappearance of frontman Mike Ferrero, and follows the band to through their reunion at Black and Blue Bowl in 2013. Part 1

In the first of Noisey’s four-part series There Will Be Quiet: The Story of Judge, Noisey talks with mythical NYHC vocalist Mike Ferraro, better known as Mike Judge. Ferraro recounts his early days and unforgiving upbringing, his road toward straight-edge, and how an introverted kid found his way to punk rock.

Part 2

Formed as a reaction to the “nice guy” approach by his former hardcore band Youth of Today, Mike Ferraro created JUDGE to have a darker approach and follow the Oi street punk movement. With lyrics that were profoundly less positive and reflected a more hardline stance, the band’s legend and success grew only to be met with escalating violence at gigs and rumors of a so-called “militant” frontman with nefarious ties.

Part 3

After the break up of Judge, rumors flew across all corners of the globe about the whereabouts of Mike Judge. Was he an on-the-run cop killer? Or a reclusive farmer? In third part of “There Will Be Quiet,” larger-than-life character Mike Ferraro addresses the rumors for the first time ever, telling the truth about where he went and why he came back.

Part 4

In the conclusion to four-part series ’There Will Be Quiet – The Story of Judge,’ Mike Ferraro emerges from the shadows twenty years after the dissolution of Judge to reform for the biggest hardcore festival in the world, Black & Blue Bowl. Judge is greeted by two triumphant and sell-out nights and some of the most rabid fans in the world.
